Fall 2024 Dean's List Announced

The Registrar’s Office is pleased to announce Dean’s List recipients for the fall semester. The Dean’s List is awarded to full-time, degree-seeking students who have received grades for all courses in a given semester (no incompletes) and have a semester GPA of 3.50 or above. 鶹ý Registrar’s Office considers this a significant achievement.

Actors From The London Stage to Present “Hamlet” on Jan. 31 and Feb. 1

The British acting company, Actors From The London Stage (AFTLS), will present William Shakespeare’s timeless tragedy, “Hamlet” at 鶹ý on Friday, Jan. 31, and Saturday, Feb. 1 at 7:30 p.m. in the Knickerbocker Theatre in downtown Holland as part of the Great Performance Series.

MLK Day Leadership Summit on Jan. 20 to Feature Multiple Presentations

The third annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration and Leadership Summit at 鶹ý will explore the theme “Mission Possible: Protecting Freedom, Justice and Democracy in the Spirit of Nonviolence365” through multiple sessions on Monday, Jan. 20, at the college’s Haworth Hotel.

鶹ý Screening the film “T-Rex” on National Day of Racial Healing

This year’s National Day of Racial Healing at 鶹ý will feature “T-Rex,” a documentary film about Claressa “T-Rex” Shields from Flint, who at age 17 became the first woman in history to win the gold medal in the 2012 Olympic boxing, on Tuesday, Jan. 21, at 6:30 p.m. in the Knickerbocker Theatre.

This year’s Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Civil Rights Lecture at 鶹ý will feature a speaker best described as a servant leader who uses education and advocacy to ameliorate social inequity. John M. Williams, who is president and CEO of Akron Urban League, will feature the theme “A Woke Messiah: Jesus Died to Defend Democracy, Demand Diversity and Defeat Poverty” on Wednesday, Jan 15, at 6 p.m. in Dimnent Memorial Chapel.

De Pree Gallery to Feature “Spaces We Inhabit” Jan. 9 – Feb. 12

With winter’s muted tones settled over Michigan, “Spaces We Inhabit” will bring warmth and color to 鶹ý’s De Pree Art Gallery when the exhibition opens on Thursday, Jan. 9, transforming the space into a dialogue between the season’s quiet stillness and the lively interlaced forms of Mexican artist Laura Villarreal. The exhibition will continue through Wednesday, Feb. 12.

Knickerbocker Theatre to Host Four Humphrey Bogart Films Beginning Jan. 13

The 鶹ý Knickerbocker Theatre will feature four Humphrey Bogart films on consecutive Mondays as part of its Classic Film Series. Focusing on his films from the 1940s, the series will feature “The Maltese Falcon” on Jan. 13, “Casablanca” on Jan. 20, “To Have and Have Not” on Jan. 27 and “The Big Sleep” on Feb. 3. All films are at 7 p.m.
