After a semester at Hope, he was hired as assistant manager for the Knickerbocker Theatre. In 1997, he became the technical director for the arts, manager of the Knickerbocker Theatre and technical director for the dance department.

Erik has also done lighting and sound work for many organizations and productions, including Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival, Aerial Dance Theatre, Eisenhower Dance Company, LehrerDance and dANCEpROJECt.

Why I love Hope

Eric thinks Hope is a very special place — as much like a community as it is a workplace. He finds the people to be engaged and interested, and the students reflect this. Erik works with amazing departments and incredibly creative people who challenge and support him.

Outside the college

Erik is a long-standing member of the United States Institute for Technical Theatre, where he has served as vice commissioner for programming in the Sound Commission for 10 years. He is also the co-chair of the USITT SoundLab Project.
