Dr. Katherine Goodwin started at Hope in August 2024 after graduating with her Ph.D. in History from Baylor University. As assistant professor of Women's and Gender Studies, she teaches from her expertise in women’s history, European and U.S. history, historical theology and gender studies.

She has two current research fields. The first focuses on the ways women participated in the processes of theological reform in 16th century Europe through printing, publishing and compiling devotion literature. Her other current research interest is pedagogical and theoretical: What is (or could be) a Christian Women’s and Gender Studies? She is collaborating with others at Hope and other institutions to develop a clear vision of what WGS has to offer to Christian higher ed (and vice versa).
