Barbara Miller ’84 works in the Admissions Office. During her time at Hope, she has served in several roles, from leading a team of colleagues that make sure our prospective students have the best visit experience possible to recruiting high school students throughout the United States and abroad. She now works closely with transfer students who want to find a new college home. She also leads the office’s efforts in creating stronger partnerships across campus.

Previously, Barbara has worked as an assistant director of admissions at Emmanuel College in Boston, MA.

Why I love Hope

Barbara knows that Hope is a place of incredible community. It’s a place with lots of people who care and encourage, and it offers rich opportunities for growth in various ways. A native of New York state, her own experience as a student allowed her to thrive and flourish, and this is why she is excited to pass this same experience on to others.

Outside the college

Barbara and her husband, Carl, live in Holland. They enjoy outdoor adventure, travel and summers in Maine.
